Ummm...yeah.

It's been a hell of a long time since I updated this blog. I'm a wee bit ashamed by this, but every time I think of updating, I tend to be at work, and blogging while working seems wrong...not to mention traceable... This is a public blog, after all, so posting something DURING work hours would be silly, at best.

Today, however, I am not working. It's Memorial Day, and my wonderful comrades-in-arms who have volunteered to work this holiday so the rest of the team doesn't have to--thank you to all of you. I truly appreciate it. :-) I also salute our men and women in all branches of the Armed Forces, who have given themselves, their lives, and their all for the sake of the United States--past, present, and future.

Band of Brothers plays every Memorial Day on the History Channel, and true to form, I watched most of it, including the last two episodes--"Why We Fight" and "Points"--and cried like a baby. Thankfully, none of my roommates came in whilst I was crying; I hate explaining why I crying to silly things like that. I know it's a fictionalized account of Easy Company in WWII, and yet the stories are based on what was told to Stephen Ambrose, and these brave men actually lived and died, which is what gets me.

Anyway, I am yet again posting from Wayward (see link in previous post), and as soon as I'm done with my delicious sandwich, I will be finishing my tech writing class. Yes, that's right, I said finishing. :-) Gotta finish a proposal, and then an abstract and a business letter to go along with it, and send it all in. Then I'm done. Finally. Then there will be the re-writing of the job description, though I very much doubt there will be a pay increase along with it. That's okay; I've said it before and I'll say it again: I am thrilled merely to be employed at this time. Plus, my coworkers rock, my boss is pretty awesome, and we're still sorta making money, with potential for new work and projects coming in to help us stay afloat. Yay! And I start my new schedule tomorrow--10am-7pm in stead of 8:30am-5:30pm. This means less time to hang out at the Tully's in Clyde Hill to avoid traffic, but more time to get up, exercise a little, have a little zen time, and THEN shower, get ready, and go to work. I really like getting out of work earlier, but I really HATE getting up early, which I think is evidenced by the fact that I tend to be late to work in the morning. It's something that was pointed out to me, along with the suggestion to change hours, and I have been so damn dogged in the morning, no matter how much sleep I get, that I decided to take the suggestion. Thanks, Josh!!! I'll also spend less money and calories at Tully's this way. Sorry, Tully's... I will come in when I can, I promise.

So not much about writing in this writing blog. I've been doing a little here and there...mostly there, wherever that is. I have ideas on how to edit and add stuff to one of my NaNo stories from 2008 (I started writing 2 last year, and finished neither), but I haven't put any time into making them happen. I have had more time to do drabbles here and there, mostly for TtH 100 (http://community.livejournal.com/tth100/profile) and a couple of continuations of things on a couple of other shorts I've done. I haven't posted any of them yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. :-)

Well, I've been here for over an hour and not done any work. I think it might be time to sign off this and get some done so I can go home eventually... :-)
